Velocity [Concept Test]
[Idea showcase / Concept test] - Controls, Mechanics and Tips below -
Build up speed, find new routes and tech. Climb the leaderboards and be the fastest to complete a set of carefully thought out levels with a variety of movement options. (in the future this will include, grappling, double jumping and more)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Latest update [4/12-2023]:
- Fixed flycam post processing error
- Made visual hotkeys toggleable
- Tweaked current practice map (way more to come in future updates)
- Added new page on main menu
- Published test version of new map, (currently named) [TESTMAP]
- Improved the system for posting times to the leaderboard, and with that removed the issue where you would lose the ability to post your highscore to the leaderboard after a reset
- Added another test version of another map, (currently named) [DASH]
- Added a Dashing mechanic, for certain maps
! NO MAP IS VISUALLY COMPLETED, ALL ARE PROTOTYPES !
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Known Issues:
- The practice map is lacking stuff to practice
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The idea for this to be a speed running game, with movement mechanics based on Titanfall 2. Currently this is just to test and show the fundamentals for the core mechanics of the game.
! Because of technical limitations, the Web (WebGL) support for this game will not continue after the final testing phase. !
There is a downloadable version of the game, but it is not optimized, it is simply a port of the web version, in the future the graphical fidelity will be greater on the downloadable version compared to the web version.

Simple Mechanics:
If your velocity is > 30 while sliding, and you jump. You will get a large boost in speed and jump height. This is called a velocity jump.
You move faster when not moving straight forward, try moving horizontally and not looking in your exact move direction.
Leaving a wallrun in the wrong direction will slow you down, leaving the wall at a 90 degree angle from the wall will increase speed.
On some maps, where you can walk on the ground (Example: Wild West, Garden), you will be slowed when doing so. (To combat being able to simply bunnyhop or spam velocity jumps and cheat the map in a non-fun way, your velocity will be limited to 13)
[Try practicing your skills in the practice map]
Tips:
Try finding your own routes, speedrunning is all about straying off the designated path and finding another one, all while using glitches and abusing the built in mechanics to your own advantage. For example, you can fly like a jet plane, straight over some maps, from the start line to the finish, through the combination of well timed bunnyjumps and good use of the ability to wall run anything and using the boosts you get from hitting velocity jumps.
Remember that you move faster when not moving forwards, and to use the boost you get from jumping off a wallrun at the right angle to initiate a velocity jump. (This trick can be used in basically any map)
